SAPAA Presentation (Frank Potter)

“Stewards of Alberta’s Protected Areas Association (SAPAA) is a non-profit society whose purpose is to support stewards of Alberta’s protected areas. The Society was formed in 2000 to assist stewards enrolled under the government’s Volunteer Stewards Program (1987) serving the Alberta government’s protected areas network (Provincial and Wildland Parks, Wilderness Areas, Ecological Reserves, Natural Areas and Provincial Recreation Areas)."  https://sapaastewards.com

Frank Potter grew up just down the road from the clubhouse and was a BWCC member prior to moving to St. Albert. Currently canoeless, the Red Deer, North Saskatchewan, Bow Rivers, and Bowron Lakes were all favoured destinations. In retirement Frank has been working with the Stewards of Alberta's Protected Areas Association. An affiliated Nature Alberta club, SAPAA supports government appointed stewards covered by the Wildlands, Ecological Reserves, Natural Areas, and Heritage Rangelands Act of Alberta (WERNAHR for short).

Doors open at 6:30 pm.
