Here are the resources / answers from Guy’s presentation – as requested:

There were some questions regarding how I distributed the mass of the bike and gear on the loaded packraft.  Approximately 11 % in the front third, 9 % in the aft third, and 80% (including paddler) in the centre third.  The presented bike, raft, and gear weighed 29.9 kg on March 1.  Slide 15 in the presentation PDF has more details. To ask for a copy of the presentation email Guy directly: guy.n.stuart@gmail.com

Presentation and Demo: Bike-rafting…maps look different now!

At the start of the presentation Guy will ride or push his loaded bike-rafting rig in front of everyone. Following a very brief introduction to the layout of the bike, he’ll switch the rig from raft-on-bike mode to bike-on-raft mode, with explanations of what, where, why. Key elements of the presentation will be: trip planning, safety gear, apparel & footwear selections, camping gear, packing considerations. An annotated slideshow to be playing while he does the conversion. A surprise at the end will no doubt garner a lot of great discussion!

This is one to be at in-person if at all possible, to get the most out of this exciting demo and presentation!
