Great day on the water, nice weather. Believed water level would be too low with photos taken 2 days prior plus checked water level app, but as explorers and adventurers, we decided to attempt. As a backup, we brought a quad in case we had to withdraw from the river. When Mike Hart saw the river, he commented, there is good water level. Everyone sighed a breath of relief.
We enjoyed the challenges navigating for deeper water but in most cases came across the surprise rock under the water that held us in stillness. With exception to the paddle board - Chelsea.
The wildlife included 2 large owls, which blended into the dirt hillside. We only knew it was there as we watched it fly to that location. Fascinating to watch them as they watched us.
About 15 cattle held up an access on the river; they soon cleared away from our whistling and yahooing.
All 4 of us set out to explore and be challenged, we had that and even more. Pure fun, and exhilerating as we experienced the beauty and river movement around every corner. Our enthusiasm was contagious to each other.
This was a first trip of the year from Chelsea and a 50th for Fred!!!
An excellent day!!!
Duration 4 hours including a 30 minute lunch break.
