Events,Observations,Comments:

A successful trip enjoyed by everyone, with friendly participants & good weather. Attendance was low, probably due to the mediocre weather forecast, but the weather turned out to be very good: mostly sunny with some cloud and wind. No other paddlers observed on the river.
Length of trip: 14 km in 3.5 hours, incl lunch stop. About 80 cms. [The original trip was described as West Baker to Edworthy Park, which I felt was too short for a Club trip (8 km & 1.5 hrs), so I changed the description to be longer and end at Parkdale, which has easier river access and parking than Edworthy. On the morning of the trip, the group agreed to my suggestion to further extend it to Hillhurst.]
--> I recommend that the standard trip be changed to the West Baker-Hillhurst section, because it is longer and the Hillhurst Firehall has easy river access and lots of parking (costing $2.50 on weekends).
