Flow was about 190 cms. Didn't have to worry about gravel bars. A bit boily in places, but manageable. All paddlers were experienced. No novices. Nice sunny warm day. Gusty wind from southeast that necessitated paddling the whole way (no drifting) and was quite challenging for the solo canoeist. About three hours with a lunch break and a stretch break. One person didn't show due to not receiving an email thru the RSVPs that the trip was going ahead. The others did receive the email. Probably my fault (usually is when computers are involved) but I'm not sure.

I'm going to send an email to someone in the City about two stupid signs just west of Crowchild Trail bridge. One says "Danger - Avoid Area." What the hell is that supposed to mean? Which area? How far away? By the time one can read the sign one is pretty much committed to running that stretch. The other sign is more useful, warning to stay right due to concrete and metal debris in river. But where? For how long?
