Events,Observations,Comments:
The river was in flood at 60 cms, which was 1 m higher & over twice the flow than usual. It didn't prove to be overly difficult: the Red Earth rapid was easier because it was washed out, but the fast current, sharp bends, & numerous sweepers kept folks alert. Because of the fast current, the group decided to continue the trip to the town of Banff, rather than stopping at the usual Highway bridge take-out. The average speed was about 15 km/hr in the first half of the trip, and about 10 km/hr in the second half.
