JULY 28 UPDATE: The August 5, 6 & 7 Kootenay trip has been cancelled due to an out-of-control wildfire in the Yearling Creek drainage close to Nipika Mountain Lodge. A BC Wildfire Evacuation Order for that area includes 8 km of the river shore. We’re hoping to paddle an alternative; perhaps the North Saskatchewan.

Put in at McLeod Meadows. Take out at the White River bridge. This trip extends over Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Two nights camping on the river. A classic paddle on an iconic stream. Participants must be self-contained with camping gear and food in their boat.

The Kootenay River is considered an advanced trip by Bow Waters Canoe Club. Participants should be competent while paddling class 2 whitewater with a loaded boat.
