Presentation: “CANOES FOR PERU”
Joe Pavelka will be presenting his documentary called “Canoes for Peru”. The film has won 6 awards and is playing in 18 film festivals around the world!
Joe is a professor at Mount Royal University, and the film tells the story of re-introducing canoes to the Amazon by a group of his students. It is also the story of the Amazon and all its contradictions. Several Bow Waters members donated canoes to Joe’s project, and their boats are now in the Amazon!
Come on out for the full film, the story behind the film, and info on paddling a great little river in the Peruvian Amazon.
Everyone is welcome to attend! The presentation is at the Bow Waters clubhouse, 1975 - 26 St. SE, Calgary. Doors open at 7:00 PM with the short Club meeting, and the presentation follows at 7:30 PM.
Info to be supplied at a later date.
The Bow Waters Canoe Club endeavours to promote the preservation of our natural environment, especially the riparian habitat that contributes so much to the enjoyment of our paddling trips. We appreciate and value these special places in terms of the beauty they provide, as well as their importance in the cycle of life.
